NI Water has gone out to tender with a contract for the collection and transportation of water and wastewater samples worth an estimated £19.5 million inc VAT).

Scope of the contract coverss the following services:
- Sampling of water, waste water and Cryptosporidium filters from locations throughout Northern Ireland
- Subsequent transportation of the samples to a specified NI Water laboratory (Gelvin Grange, Altnagelvin, Co. Londonderry or Westland House, Old Westland Road, Belfast) for analysis.
Current start and end estimated contract dates are 1 July 2026 to 30 June 2029 with further possible extension options to 30 June 2033.
Deadline to submit enquiries about the contract is 12:00pm on 17 October 2025 and tender submission deadline is 12:00pm on 27 October 2025.
NI Water expects to announce the contract award decision in January 2026.
