Yorkshire Water has gone out to tender with an AMP8 contract for laboratory supplies, consumables and equipment calibration with an estimated total value of £3.84 million (inc VAT).

The water company is seeking to establish a multi-supplier framework agreement for the supply of laboratory consumables, reagents, and equipment calibration services.
The aim of the contract is to ensure the continued, compliant, and cost-effective provision of laboratory materials and services to support Yorkshire Water's Clean Water and Wastewater laboratories, which carry out routine sampling and analysis.
The framework is being tendered in the following Lots:
Lot 1 - Laboratory Supplies and Consumables (£3.6 million)
- Analytical reagents and chemicals
- Laboratory glassware and plasticware
- Filtration materials and membranes
- Microbiology consumables
- General laboratory consumables
Lot 2 - Equipment Calibration Services (£240,000)
- Calibration of laboratory balances, meters, and probes
- Calibration of spectrophotometers and analysers
- Calibration of titration and thermal equipment
- Calibration of bench-top instruments (e.g., centrifuges, microscopes)
Suppliers will be expected to demonstrate the ability to provide a reliable, high-quality, and sustainable supply chain capable of supporting continuity for critical laboratory testing operations.
Suppliers must also have the capability or readiness to transact via SAP Ariba for ordering, invoicing, and catalogue management.
Current estimated start and end contract dates are 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2029, with a further possible extension option to 31 March 2034. Estimated contract award decision date is 1 April 2026
Yorkshire Water is seeking to award Lot 1 to a minimum of 2 suppliers to ensure full basket coverage to award Lot 2 to a single supplier. Prices will be based on the costs submitted by bidders during the tender process
For Lot 1 only, the highest scoring suppliers will be designated a role on the contract as a primary, secondary, tertiary, etc supplier based on their overall score within the final Invitation To Tender round.
Work will be awarded in rank order based on goods availability (i.e. goods are not supplied by the supplier) and supplier ability to deliver within the agreed time frames (goods are supplied but are out of stock at point of order)
Deadline for submission of requests to participate is 11:59pm on5 December 2025.
Tenders must be submitted electronically via SAP Ariba, Yorkshire Water's e-procurement portal. Suppliers not yet registered on the system must complete registration prior to submission.

The procurement will use a Competitive Flexible Procedure consising of two stages: an initial Conditions of Participations (CoP) to assess compliance and capability, followed by an Invitation to Tender (ITT) issued to shortlisted suppliers. There will be at least 2 ITT stages. During the ITT stage, Yorkshire Water will also conduct a contractual compliance round to ensure alignment with its standard terms and regulatory obligations.
