The Department for Infrastructure (DfI) Rivers Directorate in Northern Ireland has awarded a contract for camera equipment with an estimated value of £282,243 (inc VAT).

The equipment has been bought to provide infrastructure monitoring coverage in order to maintain a minimum of 460 designated rural watercourses and to construct infrastructure to offer enhanced flood protection to 92 properties , for a period of five years with two optional extension periods of up to 24
months.
Support for each camera will run for 5 years from the date of delivery of each piece of equipment. . The software of the static cameras, any software updates andairtime will also be required.
Earliest date the contract will be signed is 2 March 2026. Currrent estimated start and end ontract dates are 3 March 2026 to 2 March 2031, with a further possible extension options up to 2 March 2035.
Meteor Communications (Europe) Ltd has been awrded the contract, one of two suppliers who tendered for the work.
