Southern Water has awarded an AMP8 contract for a Minor Civils Framework with an estimated value of £72 million (inc VAT).

The Minor Civils Framework will support the following 3 main areas of the business for planned and reactive requirements for Water and Wastewater operations (across all regions):
- Roads, access, footpaths, drainage & Fencing repairs
- Buildings, chambers, cabling, pipework, ducting
- Tanks
In principle, the services required will not be major capital investments but minor repairs or making good work. The services involve repairs, replacements, or alterations to existing structures and infrastructure, and often do not require extensive planning or resources.
Southern Water was looking to appoint up to 4 suppliers to the framework when it went first went out out to tender in August 2025.
The following companies have all been awarded a place on the framework:
- AAA Building & Civil Engineers Ltd
- C J Thorne & Co Ltd
- D R Clark Services LLP
- G & L Environmental Ltd
Current estimated start and end contract dates are 13 March 2026 to 12 March 2030 with a further four year possible extension option to 12 March 2034.
