United Utilities is seeking supply chain interest in a multi-supplier framework for the provision of Operational Technology (OT) Build Only Works across water and wastewater infrastructure assets.

The water company has launched a market engagement exercise exercise to inform the development of a future procurement for Operational Technology Build Only and Associated Works.

Scope of goods, services and works covered by the procurement are for the supply, installation, integration, commissioning and support of Operational Technology systems and associated infrastructure, including:
Control and automation systems
- SCADA, PLC, HMI and telemetry systems
- Instrumentation and control equipment and associated installation and commissioning
- Industrial network and communications solutions, including telemetry and remote monitoring systems
Electrical works
- Minor mechanical and civil works required to support OT installations
- Testing, commissioning, and acceptance activities, including documentation and reporting
- Emergency works including reactive repair, replacement and restoration of OT systems
The scope also includes project management, site surveys, risk management, regulatory compliance and asset data management, ensuring all works are delivered in accordance with company technical standards and statutory requirements
Current estimated total value of the framework is £24 million including VAT and estimated start and end contract dates are 1 December 2026 to 30 November 2031, with a further possible extension to 30 November 2034
