United Utilities has awarded two contracts for specialist vehicles to support its AMP8 activities - a contract for 28 tankers worth c £3.45 million (excluding VAT) and a contract for 11 plankside tipper trailers worth £637,450.00 (excluding VAT).
The purchase of the tankers was called off under the Lot 2 PRO004871 Tankers Framework - Potable and Wastewater Tankers. Crossland Tankers Ltd has been awarded a contract under the framework.
The water company invited suitably qualified suppliers to tender for the provision of specialist utility vehicles under a multi-lot framework agreement.
The procurement of 11 plankside tipper trailers, including tippers, bulk bodies, and crane wagons was called off under the Lot 3 PRO004871 Trailers Framework. The contract has been awarded to Wilcox Commercial Vehicles Ltd.
Both agreements will run for 5 years with options to extend up to 8 years.
The procurements will support United Utilities’ AMP8 investment programme and strategic goal of achieving net zero by 2030. The scope of both contracts includes supply, delivery, pre-delivery inspection, registration, warranty support, training, optional maintenance packages, and parts provision.
Suppliers were required to demonstrate Euro VI compliance, robust aftersales support across the North West, and alignment with UU's sustainability and operational resilience goals.
Current estimated start and end contract dates are 14 August 2026 to 1 June 2027 - earliest date both contracts will be signed is 14 August 2026.
