MPs to take evidence on winter floods

The Environment, Food and Rural Affairs Committee will take evidence on the recent flooding events from the Association of Drainage Authorities, Blueprint for Water Coalition and the Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management.

This evidence session is part of the Winter Floods inquiry focusing on the implications of the winter floods and following up on the maintenance issues and recommendations that the Committee raised last year in its Report on Managing Flood Risk.

The evidence session will be held on Wednesday 26 February 2014 when the Committee will take evidence from:

  • Dr Jean Venables, Chief Executive, Association of Drainage Authorities
  • Rob Cunningham, Head of Water Policy, RSPB, representing Blueprint for Water Coalition
  • Martin Salter, National Campaigns Co-ordinator, Angling Trust, representing Blueprint for Water Coalition
  • Martin Whiting, Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management
  • Jed Ramsay, Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management
