Making every drop count

By 2025, 1.8 billion people will be living in countries or regions with absolute water scarcity, and two-thirds of the world’s population could be living under water stress conditions the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) said yesterday.

NI faces sewage treatment fines

The European Court has heaped criticism on Northern Ireland for its poor sewage treatment system. The country will now face huge fines for its substandard process – the severity of which will be decided at a later date.
There is just a fortnight left to influence the national programme for representing water consumers in England and Wales over the coming year, the Consumer Council for Water reminds customers.

Ofwat today launched a consultation into any regulatory issues arising from the new ownership of Thames Water.
