HOUSE OF COMMONS BIG BENIn his new role as Housing Secretary at the Department of Housing, Communities and Local Government, Steve Reed has announced that the Government has given the go-ahead to the largest number of major infrastructure projects in the first year of a Parliament in history.

NATIONAL POLICY STATEMENT FOR WATER RESOURCES INFRASTRUCTURE JULY 2025The Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs has published an updated National Policy Statement for water resources infrastructure – an update of the NPS released in 2023.

THAMES WATER HQThames Water is inviting interested suppliers to submit Requests to Participate in the procurement process for its proposed £242 million Teddington Direct River Abstraction (TDRA) Tunnelling main works contract. Total estimated value is currently £242 million including VAT.

ANGLIAN WATER CAMBRIDGE WWTW PROJECTAnglian Water's Cambridge Waste Water Treatment Plant Relocation application has been granted development consent by the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs Steve Reed.

THAMES WATER TEDDINGTON DIRECT RIVER ABSTRACTIONEnvironment Secretary Steve Barclay has written to Thames Water confirming his decision to grant the utility’s request for a Development Consent Order (DCO) which will eventually see the Teddington direct river abstraction scheme designated as a Nationally Significant Infrastructure Project.

IMMINGHAM PORT ABPAssociated British Ports has gone out to tender for a lead contractor /consortium for a design and build contract for the development of the Immingham Green Energy Terminal (IGET) at the Port of Immingham on the Humber Estuary worth an estimated £140 million.
