Welsh Water has recently completed a number of investment schemes to improve its wastewater networks.

Yesterday marked the completion of  Dwr Cymru Welsh Water’s £7 million investment project to enhance the treatment process at Penybont water treatment works.

Welsh Water has completed an extensive £2 million scheme that will tackle wastewater flooding affecting properties in the Upton area of Chester.

Water UK calls for strong competition framework

Water UK, the organisation which represents all UK water and wastewater companies at national and EU level,is calling on the Government to put a formal competition governance framework in place for the water sector.

South West Water has been ordered to pay £7,299 in fines and costs after a sewage treatment works in North Cornwall polluted a tributary of the River Ottery. The case was brought by the Environment Agency.

Waste companies urged to stay within the law

United Utilities is reminding businesses to stick to agreed limits regarding trade effluent consent after a  Cheshire business was fined £15,000 for breaking the law.

United Utilities has announced that it is to sell United Utilities Australia to a consortium led by Mitsubishi Corporation.
