WRc and utilities to run major wastewater dissolved oxygen monitors trial

WRc, working with a large group of the UK’s water utilities, will be conducting the most significant and comprehensive trial of wastewater DO monitors undertaken by the UK water industry for over a decade.

Reliable and robust dissolved oxygen (DO) measurement is fundamental to aeration control and optimisation of the energy demands of activated sludge based wastewater treatment processes. Accurate DO measurement results in better aeration control leading to reliable treatment and minimised energy use.

Dr Jorgen Jonsson, Project Manager at WRc commented:

“The project will be a major source of information to support companies in the selection and operation of wastewater DO monitors through future investment.”

Suppliers of suitable wastewater DO instruments are invited to participate in the trial. The deadline for initial expression of interest is 12:00 midday on the 8th October 2012. All EOIs should be submitted to Dr Jorgen Jonsson at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
