The Environment Agency has awarded a contract worth nearly £3.4 million for security guard services at the Thames Barrier and associated sites to Mitie Security.

Belfast City Council has gone out to tender with a £22 million-plus flood defence scheme for its East Belfast Flood Alleviation Scheme Phase 2.

 

The outlook for the UK water sector remains stable on expectations that it will maintain its solid performance until the end of the current five-year regulatory period in March 2015, says Moody's Investors Service in its Industry Outlook report on the sector published today.

Water industry regulator Ofwat has launched what it describes as an informal consultation on Thames Water’s price limits for 2014-15 –which could potentially result in a decrease, rather than an increase, for customers’ bills.
