Glas Cymru Cyfyngedig, the not-for-profit owner of Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water, is in discussion with its Members and lenders to restructure the group in order to increase its ability to pursue limited commercial activities to widen the range of its service to customers and to adapt to changes in the water sector.

Dwr Cymru Welsh Water has gone out to tender with a contract worth between £3 million and £7 million over a three year period for the provision of Cost Management and Forensic Cost and Fraud Audit Services.

Thames Water has gone out to with a contract to supply services for Odour Control Units, including Inspections, maintenance and refurbishment.

Northern Ireland Water has awarded a contract worth nearly £5 million to BSG Civil Engineering Ltd for a major upgrade at its Ballycastle Wastewater Treatment Works.

Environment Agency staff working with local partners, including the emergency services and local authorities, are continuing to support communities that have been affected by flooding after Storm Desmond hit last weekend.

The Chancellor has announced an additional £51 million to support households and businesses affected by last weekend’s devastating floods in Cumbria and Lancashire - but experts are warning that the damage caused by Storm Desmond could rise to £500 million.
