Consulting engineer Grontmij has appointed a new UK managing director, following a management shake up which will see the current UK CMD move to head up Grontmij Denmark.
Grontmij N.V., which has a strong European presence, has announced the management changes in two of its operating countries. Grontmij and the Danish Country Managing Director (CMD) Søren Larsen have mutually agreed that Søren will step down as of 1 March 2015. John Chubb, currently CMD in the UK, will be appointed the new CMD of Grontmij Denmark. Jeff Davitt, currently CFO of Grontmij UK, will be appointed interim CMD of Grontmij UK.
Michiel Jaski, CEO at Grontmij commented:
‘Since joining the company in 1992, Søren Larsen has played an instrumental role in building the Grontmij business in Denmark. We would like to thank him for his loyalty and much-valued contributions to Grontmij over the years. John Chubb has a strong track record, extensive management experience within Grontmij and the leadership skills to further strengthen Grontmij’s position in Denmark. Working in close cooperation with Jeff Davitt, he has made significant progress in enhancing and developing Grontmij UK in recent years. We wish John Chubb and Jeff Davitt every success in their new positions.’
As managing director of Grontmij UK since 2010, John Chubb has been fundamental in leading the transformation of the UK business in the past five years from a loss-making operation with a strong dependence on the Water Asset Management Programme framework contracts, to a more diversified business with solid results.
