Northumbrian Water to start work on £2m network upgrade

Northumbrian Water is investing £2 million to improve the water supply network near Haltwhistle, Northumberland from next month.

The North East water company will install 11,400 metres of new water mains between Bellister Bank and Coanwood, and Lambley and Slaggyford reservoir to help maintain and improve drinking water quality for customers.

The scheme, which also involves the construction of a water pumping station near Bellister Bank, will begin on Tuesday May 5, 2015 and is expected to be complete by Friday January 29, 2016.

Northumbrian Water’s contractor, Amey will be carrying out the work.
