MOSL set for significant business team expansion

Market Operator Services Ltd, the company set up to deliver the operational capability needed to support the efficient operation of the new competitive retail market when it opens in April 2017, is poised for a significant expansion of its business team.

MOSL  is working with DEFRA, Ofwat and the water companies as part of the Open Water Programme to offer non-household customers a choice of supplier and access to tailored packages that best suit their needs.

With the overall structure of MOSL now agreed, the firm is now ready to start recruiting to a number of roles across the Delivery, Market Services and Market Engagement Directorates as well as into the Programme Management Office. MOSL will shortly publish further details of a number of roles and how to apply, including:

  • Systems Programme Delivery Lead
  • Vendor Selection Management Lead
  • Test Lead
  • Data Lead
  • Subject Matter Experts: Market Design Authority
  • Digital Communications Executive
  • Collaboration and Content Developer
  • Portfolio Managers

All the new roles will be based at MOSL's offices in central London.

MOSL will deliver the IT systems that enable registration, customer switching and settlement between wholesalers and retailers. It will also design the market operator and support a range of market transition and business readiness activities.

Membership of MOSL is open to companies that have the appropriate licences to operate as wholesalers or retailers in the new competitive non-household market.

All organisations holding the relevant licences to participate in the proposed non-household retail market for water and sewerage services are entitled to apply for membership. However, until the date of market opening in April 2017, legally separate retail businesses established by existing water only or water and sewerage companies may not become members in their own right.
