New Amiad UK office to support growing demand for clean water solutions in UK and Europe

Amiad Water Systems Ltd, a leading global producer of water treatment and filtration solutions, has announced that it has established a wholly-owned subsidiary in the UK that will operate from Swansea, Wales, with the office due to open later this month.

This will be the company’s first permanent base in the UK - previously, Amiad’s products and solutions were sold through its distributor based in Swansea.

The new subsidiary, Amiad Water Systems UK Ltd, will report to Amiad Europe, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Company, and provide marketing and technical support functions. The company expects to create five to 10 new jobs within the first year.

Swansea, as the home of Welsh Water, is seen as offering Amiad a perfect platform to build its municipal business as well as provide the water engineering talent needed for its development. With other water technology companies and large industry based in the region, Amiad believes that the new office in Swansea will enable the company to increase its efforts in the UK as well as provide technical support for customers.

The new subsidiary will expand Amiad’s presence to 11 sites globally, along with a comprehensive network of over 170 distributors, to serve customers in more than 80 countries.

Over the past two decades Amiad has supplied innovative solutions throughout the UK, including to the Eden Project in Cornwall and the energy-saving zero-carbon Kingston Heights Project in South London. The firm has also provided effective cryptosporidium protection in multiple water treatment plants.

Commenting on the new office, Arik Dayan, Chief Executive Officer of Amiad, said:

“We are pleased to be establishing a UK subsidiary based in Wales, and particularly Swansea, which is the home of Welsh Water, with its reputation for providing high quality drinking water and delivering best quality service at the least possible cost. With a permanent presence in the UK, we will be in a better position to leverage the increasing demand for clean water solutions in the region. We have been supplying products and solutions to this market for many years, and have been listed on the London Stock Exchange since 2005, and so this feels like a natural fit for Amiad.”

Amiad’s filtration technology solutions are used in over 80 countries - from massive industrial and municipal installations to sturdy home landscaping filters. The company’s 10-acre headquarters complex in Israel includes research and development, manufacturing, warehousing and training facilities.
