Castle Water: billing software for Thames and Portsmouth NHH customers completes MOSL testing

Ascendancy Water’s Edge software has successfully completed MOSL’s Market Entry Acceptance Testing (MEAT) on behalf of Castle Water and will become the billing software provider for all Thames region non-household customers.

Castle Water have already starting billing all Portsmouth region NHH customers earlier this year.

Ascendancy’s Edge software has also completed the equivalent testing with the Central Market Agency in Scotland to allow it to bill Castle’s existing Scottish customers.

Ascendancy currently provides billing and pricing software for a number of Licenced Providers (retailers) in Scotland - now with the new version of its software it has been proven to integrate with both English and Scottish markets. This allows for customers to be provided with consolidated billing across the Anglo-Scottish area.

Castle Water will shortly start supplying water services on behalf of Thames Water and currently supplies water services to customers in Portsmouth on behalf of Portsmouth Water.

It also supplies thousands of customers in Scotland, where the market has been deregulated since 2008. Castle Water operates all its customer services in-house from its customer service centre in Perthshire, and does not use external call centres. Castle Water has extensive expertise in providing water services to business customers, including operating affinity partnerships with NFU Scotland and the Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations.

Charles Vincent, Managing Director of Ascendancy Water, said:

“We are really proud to have successfully completed Market Entry testing with our Edge product.  A huge amount of work has gone into developing a billing solution for Castle that is specific to the water industry and overcomes some of the historical billing issues that customers have experienced in the past.”
