Brodex Ltd acquires Trident Environmental Services Ltd

Brodex Ltd, one of the UK’s leading water treatment specialists, has expanded its water treatment expertise with the acquisition of Trident Environmental Services Ltd.

The move marks a new milestone in a period of rapid growth and investment for the Formby business, and is its second acquisition in the past year following the purchase of Bayly Environmental Services last summer.

The acquisition creates a £3.7 million company with four regional offices and a staff of 70, including over 30 engineers, committed to delivering exceptionally high quality water treatment, air hygiene and legionella control services to both new and existing customers in a range of industries.

The company said the new BrodexTrident will continue to focus on both organic and acquired growth going forward. Trident Managing Director Craig Ward will serve as Managing Director in the new firm.

Brodex Managing Director Geoff Shalders, who will assume the role of Chairman in the new company, commented:

“We’re delighted to be joining forces with Trident, who share our values and dedication to helping organisations of all sizes achieve peace of mind that their water is clean, safe and compliant.”

“This acquisition represents an important step of our growth plans and cements our place as an outstanding UK-wide supplier of best-in-class water treatment services.”

Elin Nielsen, a spokesperson for Brodex’s Norwegian parent company Meditek Capital AS, said:

“Meditek Capital views its investment in the UK water treatment sector as a long term project and we will continue to deploy our balance sheet should the management team at BrodexTrident find further suitable targets. This acquisition also demonstrates our continued confidence in the UK economy post the Brexit vote.”

Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Brodex is one of the UK’s leading independent water treatment specialists. Founded in 1998 and headquartered in Formby, with offices in the Midlands, south-west and south-east, the company provides a range of water treatment and legionella control services to customers across the UK. In 2015, it completed the acquisition of Kent’s Bayly Environmental Services.
