Retail market: new company applies for licence

Another new company has applied to water regulator Ofwat for a Water Supply Licence and Sewerage Licence.

Ofwat  is consulting on an application by London-based The Water Retail Company for the licences.

A brief synopsis of the company’s business plan published by Ofwat says The Water Retail Company will offer highly competitive pricing for water and sewerage services. The company will use technology and innovation to provide enhanced services and focus on water efficiency and water reuse to drive down bills through reduced water use, reduced effluent discharge and reduced surface water drainage.

Deadline for stakeholders to make representations or objections to Ofwat about the application is 28th December 2016.
