Scottish Water starts £2.3m West Lothian water network upgrade

Scottish Water is undertaking an upgrade of West Lothian’s essential drinking water network will see around 46km of pipes revamped – benefitting thousands of customers.

Communities in Broxburn, Armadale and Blackburn will all benefit from the £2.3 million improvement project, which is now underway.

Some sections of water main will be replaced with new pipes while others will be flushed to remove any deposits built up over time. Other sections will be coated in a special plastic PU-lining to improve water flow and prevent corrosion.

The work across West Lothian is part of Scottish Water’s six-year investment programme between 2015-21 worth around £3.5 billion.
