Southern Water Services Ltd has announced the appointment of Bill Tame as Chairman of the Southern Water board with effect from 1 March 2017.
He succeeds Robert Jennings who after three successful years is stepping down as Chairman.
Commenting on his appointment, Bill Tame said:

Southern Water’s ambition set out in its Five Year Business Plan, is to be recognised as the UK’s leading Water Company with customers at the very heart of its business.

The new Chairman added that while Southern had made good progress in a number of areas since the Business Plan was published in 2015 there was much more to be done to make the ambition a reality.
Bill Tame continued:
“There are areas where our performance is not at the level our customers and stakeholders have the right to expect it to be and our challenge is to ensure that we not only meet those expectations but to exceed them. I look forward to working in partnership with our new CEO Ian McAulay to continue the improvement in company performance and to deliver a step change in strategic leadership.”
