Northumbrian Water has helped 27 of its employees achieve Diplomas in Water Engineering that will help them to progress their careers.
The Level 3 Diploma in Water Engineering – Waste Water Network is part of an ongoing programme of learning and covered areas such as water science, plant engineering, operation and maintenance, industry legislation, environmental obligations, health and safety, and customer service.
Sewerage Maintenance Operatives, Technical Support Advisors, and Developer Service employees across the business have widened their knowledge via the 18-month programme.
Mike Madine, Head of Wastewater Networks and Developer Services at Northumbrian Water, said:
“The programme has been a great opportunity to really stretch our teams to learn new things and then apply the knowledge on work based projects.”
“The development of our people in their current and aspirational roles is important to us. The benefit of this approach is that we are helping people to progress with a great understanding of sewer networks, allowing them to develop further in their current role or alternatively progress to a higher level role or alternative role within our organisation.”
