Southern Water progresses £23m investment for Hastings

Southern Water is progressing work on its £23 million investment in two water treatment works  which supply drinking water to the Hastings area.

The water company is spending £12 million at its Beauport Water Supply Works to install equipment to ensure water from the works continues to meet ever-tightening goals and a further £11 million at the nearby Brede Supply Works.

The work is being carried out by Southern Water’s AMP6 construction partner CMDP.

Andy Parkin, site manager at Beauport, said:

“Supplying top quality drinking water is at the heart of our business and we’re continually investing in this area. Our tap water is among the best in Europe and this investment will make it even better."

The foundations of the equipment have already been laid and work is expected to be completed by the summer of 2018.
