Andy Willicott is stepping down from his role as Managing Director at Cambridge Water and South Staffs Water respectively to pursue external opportunities and will leave the businesses before the end of the year.

Whilst the recruitment process is carried out to appoint a new Managing Director to lead both businesses forward, Charley Maher, Group CEO at parent company South Staffordshire Plc, will assume responsibilities and continue to support the existing leadership teams with both current priorities and future plans.
In a joint statement, Charley Maher, Group CEO at South Staffordshire Plc and Lord Chris Smith, Chair of the Board at both Cambridge Water and South Staffs Water said:
“On behalf of the Board, we would like to take this opportunity to thank Andy for his contributions to the business over the past four and a half years, and to wish him all the best for the future. Our focus remains firmly on our overall performance and delivering a great service for our customers now and in the future. As we now look forward to the new business plan period (AMP) in the water sector (2025 – 2030), we remain both excited and optimistic about the opportunities that lie ahead and look forward to working alongside our professional and trusted Cambridge Water and South Staffs Water teams to deliver our ambitious plan.”
Cambridge Water is a water-only company supplying drinking water to around 351,000 people in and around the city of Cambridge. South Staffs Water supplies drinking water for a population of over 1.3 million to approximately 500,000 homes and 36,000 business customers. In the South Staffs region, the company supplies large parts of the Black Country, including Walsall, Sandwell, and Dudley. It also covers Tamworth, Uttoxeter, Burton, Lichfield, Sutton Coldfield and Cannock.
