British Water has announced the launch of the British Water Innovation Map, a strategic resource designed to support greater visibility, collaboration, and alignment across the UK water and wastewater innovation landscape.
The launch comes at a critical time for the sector, with AMP8, PR24 outcomes, and evolving environmental and digital regulations driving an increased need for shared insight, coordinated innovation, and accessible pathways for collaboration.
The revised tool brings together information from UK-based water-only companies and water & sewerage companies, including innovation strategies, thematic priorities, submission portals, and regional activities.
It has been developed to help members navigate emerging opportunities, strengthen partnerships, and accelerate innovative solutions across the sector in support of other sector wide innovation initiatives including those offered by Spring.
The map helps members understand each water company’s innovation plans, strategies, and points of contact across the UK. British Water’s review of water company websites has identified:
- Innovation Updates
- Submission Portals
- Strategic Focal Points (highlighted in the table)
The map will be openly available until 5 December 2025, allowing broad exploration before it becomes a members-only resource.
All information has been verified through direct company engagement, cross-checked public sources, and internal review to ensure accuracy and consistency.
