NI Water to host supplier days for £350m worth of contracts

Northern Ireland Water is holding two information days in the coming weeks for all contractors interested in bidding for a £100 million water and sewerage networks service contract as well as £250 million worth of other contracts.

The information days will enable companies to find out more about the scope of the contracts and meet the NI Water staff involved in the procurement process and who manage the current contracts.

For the £100 million water and sewerage networks service contract, NI Water’s Director of Customer Service Delivery, Sara Venning explained:

“The winning bidder of the contract will provide a range of water and sewerage services, including sewer and watermain repairs and maintenance; clearing of sewer blockages; leakage repairs and minor water and sewerage infrastructure improvements.

“We are looking for a company which not only will enable us to continue our focus on cost efficiency and value for money but will also put the needs of our customer at the centre of everything they do.”

Lewis Murray, Senior Category Manager and organiser of the information day commented:

“The information day is an ideal opportunity for companies to come along and see what is involved in applying for and managing such a large scale contract. The day will consist of presentations from the NI Water team who manage the contract and those who will be managing the tender process. The supplier days take place on Thursday 28 February and Thursday 14 March.

NI Water said the second event is aimed at current and potential suppliers that do not currently provide goods or services to NI Water.

Suppliers can book a 20 minute slot with an NI Water procurement officer, who will guide them through the services required by the company as a major investor in the local economy.
