Pump and mixer quality counts – and procurement must take responsibility for scrapheap of unsuitable pumps

Landia UK, the leading pump and mixer manufacturer, has called on procurement professionals to take responsibility for “the scrapheap of unsuitable pumps’ in the water sector.

The criticism comes with the announcement that Landia has achieved a 100% pass rate for quality in its latest UVDB VERIFY Approval.

According to Landia UK Director Hugh Vaughan, a maximum quality score in this independent audit by Achilles, clearly makes a statement about the excellence of the company’s products, procedures and ethos. He commented:

“We constantly hear from the water companies about carbon footprint, energy-saving and life cycle analysis of pumps, and almost any other green scenario whereby they want to tell the outside world that they are doing their bit.”

“If that’s truly the case, then it is time for those in procurement to take responsibility for the scrapheap of unsuitable pumps that were installed and buy from manufacturers who sell quality equipment and a first class back up service to go with it”.

In addition to its 100% UVDB VERIFY approval, Landia also achieved (for OnSite Assessment) 98% for Health & Safety and 93% for Environment.

Hugh Vaughan continued:

“These scores don’t come about by accident. Reaching these levels and keeping to them requires an awful lot of hard work, as any decent pump and mixer company will testify”.
