United Utilities supports Carbon Trust Public Sector Network water forum

With the support of United Utilities, the Carbon Trust is expanding its Public Sector Network, to provide more detailed content and discussion forums across the full range of sustainability and climate change issues.

The United Utilities partnership will enable Public Sector Network members to participate in more in-depth water management discussions, with further enhancements to the network expected in the future.

Investment is being made into improving the Network to provide more detailed content and discussion forums across the full range of sustainability and climate change issues.

Launched in 2001, the Carbon Trust’s Public Sector Network is the largest active sustainability community for the public sector in the UK, with over 3,000 professionals sharing information, experiences, know-how and best practice.

The enhanced water forum will provide advice and support on water efficiency, water harvesting and re-use, as well as wastewater management and flooding.

Tim Pryce, Head of Public Sector at the Carbon Trust said:

“As we start to feel the impacts of climate change at the same time as consuming ever greater amounts of resources, water is becoming an issue of critical importance for the public sector. We are delighted to be working with United Utilities to provide this very valuable information resource to public sector sustainability professionals.”

Sue Amies-King, Retail Director United Utilities Business, added:

“We are pleased to be working alongside the Carbon Trust in this collaborative approach with the public sector.

“We hope this unique partnership, will allow us to engage with public sector managers across the UK, swapping best practice related to water use and wastewater management which will help save money and operate more sustainably.”
