Southern Water is currently working on two separate schemes to complete further improvements to its sewer network.

Sutton and East Surrey Water has applied for a licence to extend its service offering in Scotland to gain experience in the existing competitive market before the market opens in England, according to its interim results for the six months ended 30th Spetember 2015.

Southern Water launched its first ever prosecution in November against a restaurant in East Grinstead, Sussex, for blocking sewers with fat, oil and grease( FOG).

Glas Cymru Cyfyngedig, the not-for-profit owner of Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water, is in discussion with its Members and lenders to restructure the group in order to increase its ability to pursue limited commercial activities to widen the range of its service to customers and to adapt to changes in the water sector.

Northumberland Water is planning to upgrade one of its major drinking water treatment works serving some 800,000 customers on Tyneside at an estimated cost of £40 million.

Water and energy companies are among some of the worst ranking sectors in the UK for customer service, according to research released this week.

Scottish Water is planning to start construction of the new £21 million Tullich Water Treatment Works (WTW) in early 2016, with the aim of having it fully operational and into supply by Autumn 2017.

The Department for Environment Food and Rural Affairs has published Anglian Water’s Climate Change Adaptation Report 2015 setting out how the region’s water and sewage networks are being made safe and secure in the face of climate change.

Southern Water is securing Hampshire’s water resources  via a new bulk supply of up to 15 million litres of treated water a day from Portsmouth Water and a scheme to build a strategic 18km pipeline to transfer up to 45 million litres of water a day from the River Test to the supply works in Otterbourne.

South East Water has reached a milestone in its new water efficiency scheme – the water company has handed out more than 25,000 water-saving devices to its customers.
