Construction of the biggest waste water tunnel ever to be built in Scotland is about to start after Roseanna Cunningham, the Cabinet Secretary for Environment, Climate Change and Land Reform, launched a giant state-of-the-art tunnel boring machine in the south of Glasgow.

More water companies have applied to Ofwat for retail water supply and sewerage licences ahead of the opening of the non-household market for competition in April 2017.

Anglian Water is starting a smart water metering fixed network trial as part of its plans for a long-term smart metering programme. It is intended that customers taking part in the trial will have online access to their consumption data.

A day of united working saw staff from Southern Water and Eastbourne Borough Council join forces to help educate customers in Eastbourne about the build-up of fat, oil, grease and unflushables in the sewers beneath their feet.

Wessex Water launches metering campaign

Wessex Water has launched a new campaign aimed at encouraging greater uptake of metering by its customers.

Kier Group plc, a leading property, residential, construction and services group, is considering the possible sale of Mouchel Consulting  and the firm is also in advanced discussion over two potential extensions for existing contracts with South West Water and Bournemouth Water , according to its latest trading update.
