Northern Ireland Water awards £5m+ contract

Northern Ireland Water has awarded a £5.2 million contract for its Ballydougan to Newry main link reinforcement scheme.

The installation of a major new pipeline by South East Water that will pump 4.3 million litres of extra water into the Eastbourne area when complete is reaching the critical final stages of construction.

Severn Trent Water will start work next week on a £350,000 sewer replacement scheme for the village of Norton in Gloucestershire.

Fitch Ratings has affirmed Northumbrian Water Limited's 'BBB+', Stable Outlook rating, saying it reflects "the transparent regulatory framework in which NWL operates, revenue visibility until March 2020, the company's steady operating and regulatory performance, and gearing in the mid-60% range."

The dispute by GMB members in Northern Ireland Water over pensions enters a fourth week today after the failure of talks last week facilitated by the Labour Relations Agency.

Northumbrian Water’s £66 million mains cleaning programme to protect tap water quality is continuing to move through Newcastle city centre in January. 

Severn Trent Severn Trent is continuing to work on a number of £multi-million AMP5 schemes, including restarting work on its £5m programme of work to instal new, larger, sewers as part of its efforts to help prevent sewer flooding in Cheltenham.

Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water has today confirmed that it has agreed a £230 million loan facility with the European Investment Bank.

A new contract with npower will see half of Yorkshire Water’s energy needs met through renewable electricity supplied by Selby-based Haven Power.
