Dee Valley Water starts procurement for new reservoirs and pumping station

Dee Valley Water has started the procurement process to build new service reservoirs and a pumping station and its Llwyn Onn water treatment works outside Wrexham.

Dee Valley, which supplies water to 112,000 household and 8,000 business customers across North East Wales, Chester and the surrounding area, is the smallest water company in the UK.

The town of Wrexham and its surrounding rural areas, a population of approximately 100,000, is supplied from the Llwyn Onn Water Treatment Works via an 18Ml capacity service reservoir and associated pumping station. Dee Valley Water is planning to replace the existing reservoir with a set of discrete interconnected reservoirs within the grounds of the treatment works, to an aggregate capacity of approximately 27Ml. The pumping station will also be replaced, with the new station taking its supply from the new reservoirs.

Dee Valley Water has now started the procurement process and is inviting interested suppliers  to apply to prequalify to tender.

In addition to detailed financial information, suppliers will also be required to provide details of staff and resources, evidence of technical resources and previous relevant experience for the design of water storage and pumping schemes, their sustainability strategy, and how they will tackle carbon management and maximise energy efficiency in design and procurement.
