A-Plant has announced its largest ever single order for new equipment in the firm’s history - the company has purchased more than 1,550 machines from JCB in a ground-breaking deal worth more than £50 million.
The A-Plant order is one of the largest JCB has ever won. The deal coincides with JCB’s supply of A-Plant’s 10,000th machine since the first one was purchased by A-Plant more than 25 years ago.
The order primarily comprises Micro, Mini and Midi Excavators, Tracked Excavators and hundreds of the latest Stage IIIB/Tier 4 compliant Dumpers and Telehandlers from 4m-17m. It means that A-Plant can offer customers equipment which meets demanding Stage IIIB/Tier 4 emission regulations, utilising ultra-clean technology without the use of Diesel Particulate Filters (DPFs), after-treatments or additives, and using up to 10% less fuel than comparable Tier 3 units.
Asif Latief, Marketing Director at A-Plant said:
“This £50m+ investment in new JCB machines signals our intent to offer customers one of the youngest and most advanced hire fleets of equipment in our industry. Last year, our order with JCB amounted to £35 million for more than 1,000 machines, so this latest investment figure shows our continued commitment to our customers to offer the most innovative, reliable, safe and most environmentally friendly equipment.”
The new A-Plant machines are currently rolling off JCB’s production lines and delivery will continue to A-Plant Service Centres nationwide throughout 2015. Every single machine will be UK-manufactured at JCB’s Staffordshire factories in Rocester, Uttoxeter and Cheadle.
The order has been placed through dealer Greenshields JCB, with whom A-Plant has traded for over 25 years. A-Plant was recently announced European Rental Company of the Year by the European Rental Association (ERA). The award follows on from A-Plant being awarded the RoSPA Gold Award for Occupational Safety for the seventh time, as well as being named Hire Company of the Year by the Hire Association Europe (HAE).
