Thames Water has gone out to tender with a contract for meter reading servicesworth up to £50 miilion which could run for up to 7 years across AMP 6 and AMP7.
The water company is looking to appoint a maximum of two suppliers to the framework agreement, which could run for up to 7 years with an estimated value of between £35 million to £50 million.
Under the contract, the successful suppliers will be required to provide water meter reading services, including associated meter reading equipment in Thames’ service areas. The water meter reads will need to electronically interface with the relevant IS systems.
The meter network may be subject to change by but not limited to, nature of meter type, growth in volume and geographic expansion over the lifetime of this contract.
The contract also includes Sales Investigation - an umbrella label for field activities relating to water meter reading assets. This could include checking supply, using the meter to confirm leakage or wastage and inspecting customers’ properties to identify billing anomalies.
In addition to the purchase of services by may be purchased under the framework agreement by Thames Water and its existing associated or group companies, together with its affiliates, the framework agreement will also extend to any future associated or group companies and future affiliates.
The contract is being tendered in the following 3 Lots - tenders can be submitted for one or more Lots:
Lot 1: Meter Reading Services.
Lot 2: Sales Investigation Services.
Lot 3: Meter Reading Services and Sales Investigation Services.
Thames Water envisages that any agreement would be for an initial duration of 5 years with options to extend up to a maximum duration of 7 years.
