Colchester City Council has awarded a contract for utility metering and associated services framework with an estimated value of £5 million (ex VAT).
The Council is seeking to put a framework agreement in place for use by the wider public sector for the provision of utility metering operation agreements, utility data collection services and utility data aggregation services. The multi-supplier framework, is designed to make the incumbent meter operators compliant as well as give the option for new suppliers through competition. The contract was tendered in the following two separate Lots and suppliers were invited to bid to for either or both Lots:
- Lot 1: Meter Operator - Energy and Water
- Lot 2: Data aggregator/ Data Collector - Energy and Water
Contract awards were msde to:
- Energy Assets Ltd - Livingston
- IMServ Europe Limited - Milton Keynes
- Npower - Solihull
- SMS Energy Services Ltd - Cardiff
- Stark Software International Ltd - Horley
- TMA Data Management Ltd - Kingston Upon Thames
All the above suppliers named as awarded contractors to the framework opportunity have been appointed to both Lots – the six companies were among seven firms in the bidding for the work.
Axiom Utilities Ltd are acting on behalf of the Council in administering the framework agreement.
