The Environment Agency has gone out to tender with a contract for its Flood and Coastal Risk Management (FCRM) Operational Framework — SW Hub worth an estimated £16 million.
The contract is being tendered in two Lots:
Lot 1: Small scale civil engineering and maintenance works (including culvert inspections and clearance).
Lot 2: Routine maintenance, vegetation management and pest control (to be split into sub-lots at area level at tender stage)
Both Lots will require emergency / incident response capability
The Agency is looking to appoint up to eight suppliers to the framework agreement, which will run for five years.
Although the framework is primarily intended to meet the needs of the Environment Agency, the Agency may also require successful bidders to provide the goods/services on the same terms that are agreed as a result of the tender to the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs and to its associated bodies.
Other organisations the successful bidders may also be required to provide services to include:
- local authorities in England and Wales
- Internal Drainage Boards in England and Wales
- Scottish Environmental Protection Agency
- Northern Ireland Environment Agency
- Natural Resources Wales
- Forestry Commission Scotland
- Forestry Service Northern Ireland
