Severn Trent Water has gone out to tender with a contract for pumps and motors, gearboxes and associated services and spares worth up to £18 million.
The contract has been split into seven Lots, including end to end management of borehole pumps, supply of progressive cavity pumps and spares and RAM Pumps and spares.
Severn Trent Water currently has an installed base of between 350 to 400 borehole pumps.
The water company has also included a separate Lot for a legacy pump spares distribution agreement. The requirement under Lot 6 is for the supply of legacy pumps and spares - Severn Trent Water wants to have a single supplier in place to provide a pump and spares distribution service to STW and any of its associated contractors.
The aim of the pump/spares distribution agreement is to provide a one-stop shop for a large range of pumps, spares and accessories to be delivered to any part of the STW network. Severn Trent said a key element of this agreement will be for the supplier to actively seek to reduce STWs spend on pump spares.
Time limit for receipt of tenders or requests to participate is 29th August 2017 - click here to access the tender documentation.
