Energy company SSE Services has gone out to tender with a contract for onshore / offshore unmanned aerial vehicles inspection and survey services worth an estimated £7.8 million.
The utility is looking for suppliers using devices and photography equipment attached to unmanned aerial vehicles to conduct a wide range of activities across the UK, including:
UAV survey services
- land surveys
- route surveys
- mapping surveys
- 3D modelling surveys (land or structures)
- environmental surveys
- other surveys
UAV inspection services
- electricity transmission lines and pylon towers inspections
- bridge inspections
- cable bridge inspections
- buildings and roofs inspections
- inspection of other structures
- cable route inspections
- wind turbine blade inspections (onshore and offshore)
UAV aerial photography services
- construction progress aerial photography
- marketing aerial photography
- other aerial photography
The contract will run for three years, with the option to extend annually for 2 consecutive years.
