Yorkshire Water tenders £650 million AMP7 work packages

Yorkshire Water has gone out to tender with two major contracts for work packages in the upcoming AMP7 2020-2025 period with a combined value of £650 million in total.

YORKSHIRE WATER LOGOThe water company’s contract for infrastructure schemes on its clean and waste networks is worth an estimated £400 million.

Scope of activities under the wide-ranging framework cover infrastructure construction, renewal, refurbishment and replacement works on both clean and waste networks on below ground assets, typically in public highways, including:

  • trunk main rehabilitation
  • mains rehabilitation
  • mains laying
  • cleaning of mains
  • pipe lining
  • installation of equipment such as loggers, meters, valves, etc.,
  • replacement of lead pipes
  • design and construction of outlets
  • sewerage investigation procedures,
  • emergency works (collapses, etc).

 

Yorkshire Water’s second contract for customer focussed infrastructure works is worth an estimated £250 million. The framework will cover planned and repetitive minor infrastructure construction, renewal, replacement and refurbishment works on clean and waste networks on below ground assets, typically in public highways and on 3rd party land. Project values could range from around £10,000 to £750,000. The scope of services includes:

  • comm pipe/service pipe/sewer laterals - replacement of small diameter clean and waste water pipes (including lead pipe),
  • proactive deep digs and repairs (including renewal and spot dig downs),
  • street furniture - replacement of clean and waste water network ironwork
  • DMA meter installations
  • meter installations

The water company manages the collection and distribution of drinking water to over 5 million people in Yorkshire each day, together with collecting, treating and disposing waste water safely back into the environment.

The initial period for both contracts is for 4 years, with a further 4 year extension option dependent on satisfactory performance.

Time limit for receipt of tenders or requests to participate for both contracts is 14th March 2019.
