Scottish Water has gone out to tender with a contract for a managed operated service and self-drive equipment and plant hire services worth an estimated £60 milllion in total.
Scottish Water is looking for a supplier to provide a comprehensive end-to-end managed hire desk service 24/7, 365 days a year. The successful contractor will be required to provide small tools and plant hire and also engage with Scottish Water’s supply chain for all operated plant hire and car and commercial vehicle hire to support its capital and operational delivery programmes.
The successful contractor will be required to provide a wide range of their own equipment for all major self-drive plant items including:
- excavators
- road rollers
- dumpers
- access equipment
- air tools
- compressors
- concreting
- heating
- lighting
- security fencing
- non-mechanical generators below 10 KV and small tools
The contractor will also have responsibility to provide access to data recordings, storage and management of all records that are associated with any equipment supplied.
All contractors or suppliers who contract through the procurement will be required to already hold or gain a minimum health and safety and quality standard to Scottish Water Requirements.
Initial fixed term period is for 4 years with a further four annual extension options – up to a maximum of eight years in total.
