Cardiff Council tenders £200k sewer survey work as part of SUDS scheme

Cardiff Council has gone out to tender with a contract for sewer survey and sewage treatment consultancy services worth an estimated £200,000.

The contract covers CCTV inspection survey work on drains and sewers in the Cathays Terrace and Whitchurch Road area of the city.

A full drainage survey is required to design the SuDS element of the scheme and achieve SAB approval.

All new developments in Wales from January 2019 where the construction area is of 100m2 or more are required to incorprate sustainable drainage to manage on-site surface water.

Surface water drainage systems must be designed and built in accordance with mandatory standards for sustainable drainage published by Welsh Ministers.

The systems must be approved by the local authority acting in its SuDS Approving Body (SAB) role before construction work begins.

Time limit for receipt of tenders or requests to participate is 1st April 2020 – click here to access the tender documentation.
