The deadline for suppliers to register their interest in participating in Cambridgeshire County Council’s soft market test for an online flood reporting system is fast approaching.

Cambridgeshire experienced widespread flooding in December 2020 and as a result, a programme of works was decided for the year 2021-2022. The Community Flood Action Programme is a County Council-funded programme to increase the county's resilience and ability to adapt to flooding.

This will be achieved through improving access to flood risk management information, improving data quality, and providing guidance on asset management and support for local groups to establish community flood plans.

The Council currently has a system for reporting floods online which sits within their website.

However, it is now looking to engage with the market again to understand what is available. The software will be a key tool in capturing and managing flood report data.

The aim is to procure a solution that which fills a number of requirements, including:

  • it is mobile/tablet friendly
  • can be linked to the flood website
  • can be searched by postcode or address
  • is linked to mobile GPS, that can geocode reports of flooding from a point selected by the user on a map
  • is able to export data in both GIS and more 'user friendly' formats
  • can receive user photos
  • is editable by the user.

Deadline to register an interest is 5pm at 29th October 2021 – click here to access the documentation.
