Southern Water is getting ready to go out to tender with an AMP7 contract to put a Non Infra Framework in place worth an estimated £150 million.

The water company has issued a Periodic Indicative Notice notifying suppliers of its intention to go out to tender – the utility is looking for suppliers to provide services across Southern Water’s geographical region including the Isle of Wight.
The service will cover both water and recycled (waste) water related activities including:
- Planned asset maintenance type schemes on our water production and recycling plants.
- Support and delivery of emerging needs on our above ground assets which may include new build installations.
- Environmental improvement programmes.
- New build and planned asset improvements to pumping stations
- Complex Mechanical, Electrical and Control works
- Security (SEMD) works
- Water, recycled water and sludge process improvement works
- Design and deliver Civils, Process, Mechanical, Electrical, controls and instrumentation projects.
Southern Water is looking to put a single lot-multi source framework in place with a minimum of three contractors to deliver individual projects and programmes of work will predominantly range from fifty thousand pounds to four and a half million pounds. The majority are likely to sit within the middle of this range - however projects and programmes in excess of this level may be awarded through the framework. The works will include:
- Planned asset maintenance type schemes on water production and recycling plants.
- Support and delivery of emerging needs on above ground assets which may include new build installations.
- Environmental improvement programmes.
- New build and planned asset improvements to pumping stations
- Complex Mechanical, Electrical and Control works• Security (SEMD) works
- Water, recycled water and sludge process improvement works
The water company is looking for providers with the ability to design and deliver civils, process, mechanical, electrical, controls and instrumentation projects.
Initial contract term is 3 years with extension periods of up to a further 5 years.
Southern Water expects to issue the call for competition towards the end of January 2022.
