Scottish Water has gone out to tender with a framework contract for third party waste water transport services worth an estimated £2.87 million in total.

Scottish Water Horizons Ltd is looking to put a framework agreement in place for the provision of a cost effective, reliable and commercial solution for the bulk transport of liquid waste and sludge from sites across Scotland.
The materials likely to be required for transport are nonhazardous sludges from commercial and industrial clients including category 3 animal by-products, landfill leachate, other liquid non-hazardous waste, septic waste and sewage.
Initial contract term is 3.5 years with two further 1 year extension options.
Companies bidding for the contract must have a current Waste Carriers License issued by the Scottish Environmental Protection Agency or an appropriate environmental regulator.
