South West Water has awarded an AMP7 contract for the provision of intelligent metering technology.
The contract covers the provision of an intelligent metering technology network to remotely read new and existing water meters. The water company went out to tender UVDB Achilles system for a radio system capable of penetrating the ground sufficiently to wake the meter or process a broadcast and take the reading, along with the provision of associated meters and protocol broker software. The original procurement was tendered in four Lots via the Achilles Information Ltd Utilities Vendor Data Base (UVDB) - however South West Water took the decision to award a contract for Lot 1 only.
No information has been made available about the successful supplier.
