Affinity Water has started the procurement process for its £900 million AMP8/9 capital works programme – the company is planning a market engagement event later this month ahead of going out to tender with a formal contract notice in November.

The utility is looking to put a supply chain in place to deliver its AMP8 and 9 capital works with an estimated total value of £450,000,000 for AMP8 and AMP9 respectively. The agreements will run alongside the other existing agreements that will be used to deliver the AMP8 and 9 programmes - examples include the Smart Metering Programme.
The water company said it welcomes interest and feedback from all sections of the market, including from suppliers that do not traditionally operate in the water industry.
The contract will be tendered in two separate Lots.
