United Utilities is seeking supplier input by 11th December ahead of going out to tender with an AMP8 Framework for Minor Works in January 2024.

The water company has issued a Periodic Indicative Notice announcing its intention to go out to tender in January with an AMP8 framework contract for minoer works.
As part of its Phase Two procurement plan for AMP8, United Utilities is seeking contractors to deliver its Minor Works projects, to complement the Build Only delivery route.
The Minor Works contractors will predominantly deliver civil engineering projects with indicative values within the range of £50,000 to £1.75 million, with approximately 200 projects to be delivered in AMP8.
Projects types may include construction works on:
- combined sewer overflow chambers
- boreholes
- septic tanks
- dosing rig plinths
- access roads
- fish passages
- WINEP habitats.
United Utilities’ AMP8 and AMP9 programmes represent a significant leap in the company’s long-term strategic planning and investment in water and wastewater infrastructure across the North West of England.
Scheduled to fully commence in April 2025, the AMP8 period will extend until March 2030, followed by the AMP9 period.
The water company’s AMP8 capital programme has an indicative value of approximately £7 billion - a substantial increase in investment over previous Asset Management Periods (AMPs).
United Utilities is now inviting potentially interested suppliers to complete a survey by 11th December 2023 to help inform its strategy for the minor works framework ahead of going out to tender with a formal contract notice in January 2024.
