The water company has issued a Prior Information Notice PIN) to alert the market to an upcoming opportunity to act as SES Water’s electricity supplier for the AMP8 period commencing 01 April 2025 for a period of 5 years.

SES Water’s current grid supplied electricity consumption is c55GWh with 100% REGO-backed supply, across 83 meters. Estimated total value of the contract is £42,000,000.

Ahead of going out to tender, SES Water have decided to start market engagement activities, with the following objectives:

  • to allow potential electricity suppliers to have the opportunity to review and provide feedback on SES Water’s draft specification of requirements.
  • to allow potential electricity suppliers to describe innovative contract structures that may be more economically advantageous than those described in SES Water’s draft specification.

SES Water’s draft requirement is summarised as follows

The utility plans to share the detailed draft specification of requirements with potential electricity suppliers who respond to the PIN and hold subsequent 1-to-1 engagement sessions.
