The Environment Agency (EA) has awarded a Mapping and Modelling Framework to provide the scope of services required to develop and maintain data and evidence, enabling informed investment decisions at a range of spatial scales.

Scope of the contract includes:
- real time and none real time fluvial mapping
- survey & mapping
- incident management and response
- hydrological services
- data management
- professional services.
The Mapping and Modelling Framework has been awarded as a single National Lot Model with six Delivery Partners.
The Framework will run for an initial three-year term, with one further one-year extension option.
Other public bodies in England who will be able to make use of the framework include Local Authorities and Internal Drainage Boards
Ten companies were in the bidding for the contract - the following companies have been appointed to the framework:
- AECOM Ltd
- WSP Binnies
- Mott Macdonald
- Jeremy Benn Associates Limited (t/a JBA Consulting)
- AtkinsRéalis
- Jacobs UK Ltd
The Environment Agency said the contract values are based on current understanding of the indicative pipeline of work. Pipeline values could vary during the lifetime of the Framework due to factors such as changes in funding allocations, flood events, environmental incidents, asset deterioration rates and use of the framework by other organisations.
